He is said to have appeared in many TV shows that were hosted by his parents. Ben attended the University of California and dropped out in nine months to take up acting classes and opportunities in New York City.

Having made some efforts with directing short films and parodies, Ben started doing more commercial comedy roles during the late 90s. In 1998 he starred with Cameron Diaz in ‘There’s Something about Mary’ which uplifted his career and opened the eyes of many other comedy creators. In 2004, Ben invested his time and effort doing six movies for that year. They include ‘Starsky & Hutch’, ‘Envy’, ‘Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story’, ‘Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy’, ‘Along Came Polly’, and ‘Meet the Fockers’. Although ‘Envy’ only grossed $14.5 million worldwide, his most successful film of the year was Meet the Fockers, which grossed over $516.5 million worldwide. Ben started his voice over skills in the 2005 animation ‘Madagascar’. He is also scheduled to do the same for the sequel that is planned to be released in 2008.
