Edward Allen Harris is Academy award nominated American actor who has starred in many roles to impress movie critics. He was born in 1950, in New Jersey, and graduated in arts from the California Institute of the Arts.
Ed’s breakthrough role was playing an American Astronaut in the 1983 film ‘The right Stuff’. He repeated his role in the 1995 movie ‘Apollo 13’, for which he was nominated for an Academy award. He was once again nominated for Oscars for his roles in ‘The Truman Show’ (1999), ‘Pollock’ (2001) and in ‘The Hours’ (2003). His role in ‘The hours’ is considered one of his best performances in his career. Ed plays the role of a writer who is broken in life by AIDS and has no one but his lady friend to accompany his soon to be over life.
Eds most recent roles are in ‘A history of Violence’ alongside Viggo Mortensen and Maria Bello. Ed plays the role of a villainous mobster in the movie. In 2006, he starred in ‘Copying Beethoven’ alongside Diane Kruger. The film depicts the days of Beethoven completing his Ninth Symphony, and Ed plays the role of the great Maestro. His performance is truly remarkable and the movie is known as a must watch for every passionate music enthusiast.
