Edward H. Norton was born in 1969 in Massachusetts, USA. He grew up in a well to do family who were able to get him graduated from High School and then from Yale university in 1991, with a BA in History. It was his tenor in Yale that Edward got involved in Theatre, where he majored in drama.
Edward Norton started his acting career with ‘Primal Fear’ in 1996, where he plays the role of a deeply disturbed young man accused of murder. His performance in ‘Primal Fear’ got him nominated for an Academy Award for the best supporting actor and also won him a Gloden Globe Award in that year. Two years later he went on to do another very controversial role in Academy award winning movie ‘American History – X’. His role as a Neo-Nazi, violent, racial activist, once again nominated him for another Academy Award. The Buzz goes that Edward put on 30lbs of muscle for this role.
In 1999 he starred with actor Brad Pitt in the critically acclaimed film ‘Fight Club’, in which he plays the role of a misanthropic narrator, who has an uncontrollable, rebellious alter ego in him. His acting skills are further proved in the 2001 hit ‘The Score’, where he plays the role of a smart thief alongside Robert De Niro. It is also said that he did most of the scripting for ‘The Score’ as well.
Edward Norton could be considered as an actor who has done only a few movies to prove his capabilities. His acting peak is yet to be seen and critics claim him to enter the hall of fame in time to come.
