Ewan McGregor is a Scottish actor born in 1971 and was ranked #37 among the 100 Top Movie Stars of all time. He started his career by entering the British film industry where he did many roles to impress a world wide audience and bring him into Hollywood. He launched his career playing the leading role in the BBC TV series ‘Lipstick on your Collar’. It was in 1996 that Ewan made his breakthrough role as a drug addict in the internationally acclaimed movie ‘Trainspotting’.
Ewan is best known for playing the role of young Obi Wan Kenobi in the Star wars trilogy, directed by George Lucas. His role earned him great recognition and opened new avenues for the young star. Ewan Mcgregor is one of the very few modern actors who has done full frontal nude scenes in ‘Trainspotting’, ‘Velvet Goldmine’, ‘The Pillow Book’ and ‘Young Adam’. He went on to win the BAFTA award for the Best Actor in a Leading role for his performance on ‘Young Adam’. This became his Second BAFTA award in the same capacity.
In 2001, he starred with Nicole Kidman in the Musical ‘Moulin Rouge’, where he sang in most of the movies soundtrack along with Nicole Kidman. Following this he lent his voice talents to various animations, which include ‘Robots’ and ‘Valiant’. The year 2007 has been very busy for this bright star, who has worked on six movies. These include the highly anticipated ‘The Tourist’ and ‘I, Lucifer’.
