He started his career by entering the British film industry where he did many roles to impress a world wide audience and bring him into Hollywood. He launched his career playing the leading role in the BBC TV series ‘Lipstick on your Collar’. It was in 1996 that Ewan made his breakthrough role as a drug addict in the internationally acclaimed movie ‘Trainspotting’.

Ewan is best known for playing the role of young Obi Wan Kenobi in the Star wars trilogy, directed by George Lucas. His role earned him great recognition and opened new avenues for the young star.
