Pierce Brendan Brosnan is an Irish born actor who was the fifth actor to play James Bond in film. He was born in 1953, to Irish parents and was brought up by his mom after her divorce. Having moved into London, Brosnan intial introduction to acting was a stage manager for plays. Later he was picked up by Tennessee Williams to perform in his plays, which he continued to do through out the late 70s. In 1980, Brosnan got his first film appearance in ‘the Long Good Friday’, and was actively involved in TV productions.
In 1982, he started playing the role of a romantic crime detective in popular TV series ‘Remington Steele’. He starred alongside Stephanie Zimbalist who plays Laura Holt. In the same year Brosnan was asked to sign up for the James Bond role, but had to refuse the role due to his contract with NBC playing Remington Steele.
In 1995, he was again asked for the role of James Bond, and this time he accepted to do it. He starred in his James Bond Movie ‘Goldeneye’, which was a box office and grossed over $26 million. This is considered one of the most successful 007 movies of all time. In 1997 he starred in ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, and ‘The World is not enough’ in 1999. Both were hits and Brosnan was known one of the best James Bonds ever. His Last James Bond movie before his role went off to Daniel Craig was ‘Die Another day’.
