Ray Liotta was born in 1954, and was adopted by Italian parents when he was six years old. He started his acting career by attending the University of Miami, where he performed at Jerry Herman Ring theatre.
Liotta’s starred in a number of TV serials in the early 80s, and eventually went on to win a Golden Globe Award for the role of ex-con Jonathan Demme in the 1986 film ‘Something Wild’. In 1990, Martin Scorsese invited him to play the role of real life mobster Henry Hill, alongside Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci in the award winning film ‘Goodfellas’. His performance in ‘Goodfellas’ is said to be the most memorable performance he had done in his career so far.
In 2001, he starred with Anthony Hopkins and Juliane Moore in the ‘Silence of the Lambs’ sequel ‘Hannibal’, where he plays the role of Paul Krendler. Through out the 90s and even now Liotta is considered by many movie makers for challenging supporting roles. Liotta is also scheduled to do many more movies with some leading Hollywood stars such as Sean penn and Cuba Gooding Jr. in the coming years.
